Bought this car in '92 for $100. 1.6L with a 4-speed. It blew a timing belt so it didn't run. I replaced the motor with an '86 1.9 from an Escort with an automatic. It kept chewing up clutches about every 6 months. It would just trash the center hub of the clutch discs. I've leared to be able to change the clutch in little onder an hour and a half. I came to find out that the surface, where the bellhousing bolted to the block, was not strait and force the disc to be applied at an angle.

I replaced the engine with a 1.9 EFI HO out of a '88 Escort GT in '99. Computer and everything. Since then I never had a clutch problem.

The body has been untouched since I've bought it. I added the rear wing back in 2001.  The cruise works and A/C blows ice cold air.

Some of the mods to the motor are an Accell ignition system, 35lbs injectors, Crane Cams fuel pressure regulator, and Ford Motorsport Cam Degree Sprocket. The cam is advanced 2 degrees.
